News News!
Well what do you know! A lovely July 4th treat for me and all my fellow Beaners out there, The Birmingham New has done a story on Colter and me!
"Daniel Davis wears clown makeup, a fright wig, a shirt and tie and a happy smile on his Web site. Oh, but don't be fooled by the good-natured photo of the University of Wisconsin junior. Davis' Web site is deadly serious. It's devoted to an injustice. It's devoted to baseball. It's devoted to Colter Bean."
It's pretty amazing to find yourself in the news, especially in such a funny and well written story. I was surprised just how large a part I played in the story. Well here's hoping that this gets some one in the Yankees attention. And here's wishing you all a happy 4th of July. And HERE'S the rest of the story.

200...
The big Bean appeared in his 200th game as a Clipper yesterday putting him only 13 short of the record.

Save The Internet...
Once again I'm a little off topic but there's something begin debated in Congress that I think you all should know about. Congress is debating weather Internet Service Providers, those annoying people who connect you to the internet, should be able to charge some websites so that people can access there websites better. This may all be a little vague but the skinny is that the big ISP's want to make it a lot harder for small sites like this. So check out
http://www.savetheinternet.com and save the net.

The Final Countdown...
I looks like the C-man is only 15 appearances away from the Clippers all time appearance record set back in 1899. Well at least it's a record.

Dog Days...
It's been pretty slow lately but at least Erikson is gone. Small's gone also. Small loss, get it, SMALL loss, Hahahaha, anyways. So I guess Farnsworth moves into bum of the month by default. Oh well here's to the Yanks being so desperate they give Colter another chance.

It's a Girl...
I know this technically doesn't count as Colter news, but I just got a new laptop and am very excited. It's metallic silver and weighs 6 pounds 2 ounces. Pictures to follow.

Here's Johnny...
I've been gone for a while, cousin’s wedding in Colorado, but I'm back now and with exciting news. My man over at nyyankeefans.com met the C-man over at a Clippers game. You can read about it at his website, or the forum, but suffice to say Colter was a cool guy. He also took a picture which I have posted in the gallery. It's good to be back.

Dark Was the Night...
Well, not much to report. Colter threw another inning and struck out two but what else is new. There have been some trade rumors floating around out there, but there's no real movement on them yet. The one piece of good news is that I have finally picked a new bum of the month. And the winner is... Scotty "Can't get no satisfaction" Erikson. And for are runners up lovely parting gifts. For Tanyon Sturtze a trip back to nowhere, where you belong. For Aaron Small the reassurance that you will never again be any good. And of course for Kyle Farnsworth the knowledge that you will never EVER live up to your one good season. It's been fun folks.

Long Day's Night...
Colter struggled a bit allowing a few more runs in a game tuesday, but his ERA and K's still look good so I for one am not worried. But while Colter has hit a bit of a tough spot FreeColterBean.com is going strong. We're now have had over 2,500 unique visitors and 10,0000 page views. I would of course like to thank the people who make this all possible, me, no wiat you the loyal FreeColterBean viewers. Keep up the good work the C-man's watching.

Mrs. Bean...
I got an e-mail from the C-man's wife today:
And I thought I was Colter's #1 fan! Love the site. Thank you so much for creating it...It's a tough road to the majors, and it's encouraging to read about all the "Beaners" out there. Everyone loves checking out freecolterbean.com to see what's posted next. Our spirits remain high...keep up the good work!
Sincerely,
Ruth Bean (Colter's wife)
This just leaves me wondering if there are any little Beaners on the way.

Back in the USSR...
Well the C-man's back in the minors and has already added a couple more K's. There's a rumor floating around that the Yanks are looking to deal his Beanness for Ryan Church of the Nats. If the Yankees aren't going to give him a real chance, two games against the second and third best hitting teams in baseball doesn't count, then they should trade him.
5.24.06
Damn Yankees...
Well with Sheif of the DH the Yankees have decided to send Colter back to the farm. At least this time he got two apperances as opposed to one last year. So close and yet so far.
5.22.06
When it Rains...
Well this wasn't exactly Colter's night. Two hits, two runs, and a walk is not how one wants to begin a professional career. That being said I would want to make my third big league start in Fenway, and certainly not in a Yankee uniform. I think there's some problem with how they are using his Beanness. This year Colter has been great against both right and left handed batters, but usually he is more effective against righties since he has a side arm delivery. Maybe they should use him as a righty specialist. That is bring him in to pitch when the other team has a good righty up. Well keep your heads up loyal Beaners. The sun will come out tomorrow....
5.21.06
Oy Vey...
Well Colter's major league start went both good and bad. He struck out David Wright to begin with and got through one scoreless inning, but then Torrie pulled him in the middle of a batter. I think that the Yankees just don't understand the C-man. He may occasionally hit or walk a batter, but with a litte time he'll strike out one an inning and be a great middle reliver. Well, here's to you Colter. #tips hat#

FREE AT LAST!!!
Free at last. Free at last! Thank God almighty, Colter's free at last. As I'm sure by the volume of hits you all know already Colter got called up to the show yesterday, some guy named Mitch Jones got sent down. I'd like to congratulate all the Beaners out there for making enough noise that Kid-C got the call up, my self included. I took the day off yesterday, it's summer and there's beer pong to be played, and I get bak to a flood of e-mails telling me the C-man is up. I'm full of mixed emotions. Obviously I'm thrilled his Beanness is in the show, but I have to take the site in a new direction now. While I'm mulling that you should all be watching ESPN to see if Colter gets a call.
5.17.06
WTF...
Well Tanyon "no mass no mass" Sturtze is out for what seems like quite a while and of course the Yankees take this perfect opportunity to bring up... Scotty "Luckiest Man in the World" Erikson. I could say so many things, many unfit for the younger Beaners, but I'll just let baseballprospectus take it away:
"Tanyon Sturtze's woes force him to the DL in favor of a pitcher so bad he makes Jose Lima retch: Scott Erickson."
But old BP doesn't stop there:
"That they turned to Erickson while once again ignoring Colter Bean (0.77 ERA, 30 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings) highlights an organizational blind spot, both in development and in choosing guys for major-league roles."
So at least the big Bean is getting some love. Just not from the Yankees. I guess I'll have to find a new bum of the month now. Any takers?

The Sky is Falling...
Oh God no, it can't be. His Beanness let up a run and got a loss? Well don't despare loyal beaners, because the big righty from 'Bama still has an ERA under 1. Kid-C also has passed the 30 K mark and is now only four back of the team leader who has 15 innings on him. Keep you heads up the sunn will come out tomorrow... [continues singing off tone]

Bean Counter
Colter's got some play on oursportscentral.com. The article talks about how impressive Colter has been this year letting up just one run in more then 20 innings. You can see the article HERE or go to the Colter Clips section. The article also notes how Mr. Bean is coming close to be the all time appearances leader for the Clippers a team going back to 1866. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Like Crash hitting the most home runs in the minors in Bull Durham, its sort of a dubious honor. It's practically unbelievable that a pitcher with numbers like this can't get a major league shot despite all this time put in. I'm just hoping that it will become some sort of joke that a pitcher with a 0.4 ERA can't get to the majors and Torrie will be embarrassed into giving him a try.

Colter Chat Forum!
Well thanks to the people at nyyankeesfans.com we now have a forum. So pop on over and check it out. On the Bean watch, Colter continues to pitch very very well, one run in 20 innings. It also seems more likely that if any pitcher from AAA will be called up it will be the C-man since Mendoza and Erkicson aren't doing much. Well keep the faith and post in the forum.

Later that Night...
Well it's official every pitcher on the Yankees sucks. Randy Johnson ERA 5.01 Aaron Small 14.40 Wait, wait, wait, 14.40?! How is it even possible to have an ERA of 14.40? What is he doing? I think you have to turn around a pitch the ball directly over the outfield fence to get an ERA that high. And of course the one, the only, the WORST pitcher in baseball Tanyon "Secretly working for the Red Sox" Sturtze has the nice new ERA of 7.84 Nice job Cashman real winners. 7.84 > 0.46 Nuff said.

Holy Beaners Batman
Wow, all I can say is wow. I got back today and check the site reports and it seems 359 Beaners visited us yesterday! The previous high was 28. That takes are little humble website to over 500 unique users and 2,500 page views so far. http://canyonofheroes.blogspot.com/ Had an entry on us that got picked up by http://www.yanksblog.com/ and we're off and running. I've received an offer from someone to host a forum. So hopefully that will happen soon. I do need some help from the Beaners out there in telling me where on http://auburn.rivals.com/ I'm mentioned since it says a LOT of you are coming from there. Also check out the funny e-mail I received posted under the Colter Clips section. Last but certainly not least His Colterness the C-man himself is continuing to pitch lights out baseball while Tanyon Sturtze is still ugly.

BIG NEWS
Colter Contact
Well there I am just sitting down at my computer minding my business when all of the sudden I get an e-mail from, guess who, Colter Bean. Well The Big Righty from 'Bama had some really nice words for yours truly and of course all of the Beaners out there:
"I can now walk away from the game a happy man knowing there are people out there that care. I appreciate everyone who writes in and is supportive.
Maybe one of these days I will get a chance but if not this website has made all worthwhile."
He added:
"Just tell them I appreciate everything and keep writing and posting stuff."
Well doesn't that just beat all.
5.6.06
Well I've been able to restore most of this website after loosing almost all of it. I tried to upgrade the tools to add a forum and some how lost everything. The good news is that I've been recieveing some very interesting e-mails from devoted Beaners and I think we ay be getting some traction. BTW the only section I haven't brought back is the Bio section since it took about four hours to make it last time, so if someone has it archived or something let me know. Well it's very vey late and I have finals soon so good night.
5.5.06
Colter continues to pitch well but Microsoft does not. I'm having serious issues with Microsoft Office Live so the website is looking a little sparse. Well stay tuned Beaners I will resolve this one way or the other by later this week. *Shakes fist in air at spector of Bill Gates*
4.22.06
Well good news and bad news. The bad news is that Sturtz seemed fine and pitched fairly well yesterday. The good news is that there are other Beaners, aka fans of Colter Bean, out there. My web site tools say I've had 30 unique visitors. In addition I'm now #1 on the google search for "free Colter Bean" and on the eighth page for "Colter Bean." Well eight is better then nowhere. I've also received an e-mail from a fan of the C-man.
4.17.06
The Yankees have some early struggles while the C-man has more K's then innings pitched. Meanwhile some of the Yanks new relief "talent" have fallen on hard times. Farnsworth is struggling and Strutz is just a bum. Common Torrie bring up Kid C!
